Dear CCA,

The Dayton Hamvention 2010 will soon be here! May 14-16, 2010! I look around my shack and so many things I see have something to do with what I learned or found or talked about with someone at Dayton! If you are in any way able to attend this year you know it will be a great time eyeball QSO's, sharing about Collins Radio, bargain shopping, and catching up on all the latest!

We are planning a great Collins Collector's Association Banquet on Friday Night at 7 (6 for the social hour) and want as many as possible to attend!! More on this soon!!

The CCA has reserved a block of 30 rooms again this year and these are available now for $118.00 per night plus tax, single or double for 5/13, 5/14,or 5/15.

Call the Ramada Plaza Dayton (Former Holiday Inn Dayton North) at 1-937-278-4871 and make you own reservation. The cut off for this discount is April 13, 2010, so make you reservation right away!! Same hotel location just a new name!!!

CCA Renewal Guide

Remember that the CCA renewal process has gone Green. You will not receive a renewal form in the Signal Magazine, as in the past. In order to not miss the next issue of the Signal, renewals should be completed by end February, 2010. Please try for January so that Pete does not get buried at the last moment.

YOUR MEMBERSHIP NUMBER IS ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE SIGNAL ENVELOPE. IF YOU HAVE LOST THIS, THEN EMAIL PETE ZILLIOX FOR THE INFO AT:

If you want to renew for multiple years, just multiply the dues ($32 - or $40 if not CONUS) by the number of years you wish to renew for, and change the payment amount to the correct amount. It will happen.

We are sorry if you do not like to do these kinds of things on line, but this had to happen at some point. The size of the Signal is such now that inserts often push us over the postage weight limit and that, now, gets expensive with postage rates going up and up.

20 Meter Net Manager - Announcement

It is with great pleasure that I am announcing that Jim Hollabaugh, W6TMU, has accepted the position of CCA 20 Meter Net Manager. Jim brings a wealth of experience in various net control and net management positions as well as years of experience as a ham. I am really looking forward to working with him.

Jim will be contacting those of you that have shown interest in being a net control or assisting the net control. I have forwarded the volunteer list that I was using while I attempted to try and keep a net control schedule in operation.

If you are interested in helping with the 20 meter net, and have not previously been a net control, please contact Jim via email at jimholls@prodigy.net

Our Welcome to Jim and we look forward to great nets as we move forward into 2010 and hopefully better sun spot activity. Jim officially starts after the first of the year.

Treasurer Report - December 2008

The CCA treasury has been working for the membership as most have seen with the expansion of our "Signal" publication. With this dramatically improved and informative presentation our costs have also risen. I bring this to your attention as it is imperative we receive prompt payment of your annual dues which are due now.

I am pleased to report some five hundred have paid in a timely fashion. To that I say Thank You.

There are several other activities tugging at our funds, such as Dayton booth presence with its accompanying banquet activities. I urge those not paid yet to do so using PayPal preferably, but a check works fine if desired.
