K0CXX AM Studio AZ

Prior to moving to Texas, K0CXX AM was located in the National Forest (Forest Lakes) in Arizona at 8000 feet. There, the 20V-3 broadcast transmitter found its way to 3855 kC every Saturday morning to join in on the morning AM net. Here the 20V-3 is shown making 375 watts carrier and 100 % modulation. Audio is supplied by a Collins 212F-1 mixer board that started life at KUZZ Country, Buck Owens’ original station in Bakersfield California. This same transmitter and the studio arrangement has now been moved to Wimberley, Texas and is now “talkin with a Southern Drawl”.  Love those 4-400s modulated by 4-400s!
