Russian Copy ART-13

During WW 2, and associated with the US military’s relationship with, then ally, Russia, a flight of US B-29s made an unscheduled stop at a Russian airbase. During this stop, the crews were detained and the equipment given a thorough disassembly and documentation job. The result was a duplicated B-29 (literally) even including the duplicated radio room ART-13. Internally, they even duplicated the tubes and components. This photo is of the resulting “Russian” ART-13, the only ART-13 ever made that was not built by Collins.
