32RS-1 at K0CXX
The 32RS-1 is a commercial relative of the KWM-2. It is a 100 watt pre-tuned 4 channel upper sideband only workhorse that bears a lot of similarity to the KWM-2. This particular unit is located in an AM display area because it awaits exchange of its exciter/PA unit for one which has been modified for SSB/Injected Carrier AM operation using a Collins Service Bulletin which was so complex that it was accomplished only at the factory. This rare AM 32RS-1 variant was developed for the Canadian Forest Service at their request because the CFS was grandfathered in an AM system, but wished to use the 32RS-1. The original USB version was also available in a mobile version, the 32RM-1. Both units used the remotely located 180V-2 Antenna Tuner.
