THE COLLINS 851S-1 RECEIVER

The Rockwell-Collins 851S-1 is the latest offering in our expanding line of user-oriented hf receiver products. The 851S-1 features “continuous” rate sensitive tuning and a phase-locked digital variable bfo. A single rotary knob tunes either the receiver frequency or the bfo offset. At low rotation speeds, the frequency change rate is linear to provide fine tuning down to 1 Hz. As knob rotation speed increases, the frequency change rate increases exponentially to allow rapid tuning. Coarse and fine tuning rates are front panel selectable to faciliate large frequency excursions.

Veratility and growth capability are offered through the many available options. These options permit user configuration of the 851S-1 to satisfy individual system and mission requirements. Fast sythesizer channeling time and standard remote control schemes further enhance the receivers’s capability.

Slide-out chassis and plug-in circuit cards provide easy access to maintenance. Two layer cards, color-coded test points, common extender boards, and HF-80 commonality ensure supportability of our newest receiver product — the 851S-1.
