I am a EE student at Texas A&M Kingsville. I am also the only person who has shown interest in the dead radio room there. The room is full of very nice old goodies, that from the logs (each radio has its own logbook) it looks like little of the equipment has been used since the mid to late 70's. In this room I have (University has) two complete Collins stations...I have no idea if they work, how to work them, and most importantly I have no idea how to restore them.

Is there a website, book, or somewhere to go for information on how to restore these radios?

I have pictures...
To see them all go here:

Some of the most interesting ones are:

Hi Klint.

First, don't turn on anything to see that it works. You could damage them even further. From the pictures the capacitors are u/s. These would all need to be replaced. All resisters/ coils need checking to see if they are correct or not open circuit. There are parts lists for all the Collins models you have listed. Valves are also available.

You have a big job ahead of you and there are many in CCA who can help. Email me for further help and who I can direct you to.

I found the movies at http://www.hi-rescom.com/ has anyone seen them before? If they are worth it I could make the case to the chair of the physics dept. and try and get a few of them. The KWM-2 movie says it covers rebuilding which is what I would want, but the 30-S1 and S/Line movies don't say anything about rebuilding or restoring.
