Greetings to all. My name is Bob VA3RFW - I checked into the net on March 25/10 at 10:30 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time. I just wanted to say how I enjoyed the net this evening. I worked with Collins in their Toronto plant on 150 Bartley Drive, I believe in 1974, on the MR2000, the 618T, and especially on the MR201 marine radio we made for the US Navy. In those days I was the final line test technician on the MR201 power amplifiers, tuning them from 156 to 162 MHz, and sending any units that didn't pass back for repairs as I determined necessary eg. Replace Q4 and R27 etc. The quality control was very high, and I remember an inspector coming in who put the MR201 transceiver into a furnace, a freezer, and also threw the unit off the 3 story building roof to test it under various extreme conditions. If the unit failed, there was considerable "consternation" from the brass, hi hi. 73, from Bob VA3RFW in Kirkland Lake Ontario Canada
